In “Zara Spook and Other Lures,” a comedy by Joan Ackermann, Evelyn is a little woman with a big dream: she hopes to win the national women's bass fishing tournament sponsored by Bassin' Gal Magazine. She has stiff competition in legendary champion Ramona. Evelyn must contend with her boyfriend who desperately wants to marry her and won't take "get lost" for an answer. Ramona also has a man in pursuit, her macho estranged husband who was dismissed from her life for being insensitive. He's out to prove her wrong even if he has to shoot her to do so.

Cast members include SCF students Nick DeLisi as Talmadge; Madeline Heath as Evelyn; Sara Brown as Teale; Sally Fint as Margery; Sean Darcy as Mel; and Alexandra Cowan as Ramona. The director is Dean Anthony, and the stage manager is Darian Canton.

General admission is $12. Tickets are $10 for students and SCF employees. Tickets are on sale starting April 2. For more information, call the Neel Performing Arts Center box office at 941-752-5252. Maps and directions are online at scf.edu/maps.
