SCF’s Kids’ Summer Spectrum to Offer STEM Classes

(Bradenton, Fla., May 17, 2013) - Kids' Summer Spectrum, a State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) summer camp provided by Corporate and Community Development, will offer  Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) classes for children ages 10 through 15 at SCF Venice and SCF Lakewood Ranch.

Engineering, video game animation and design, creative robotics, and building and design are included in the hands-on computer and technology classes offered at both campuses. Morning sessions from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and afternoon sessions from 1:30-5 p.m. will be held Monday through Friday from June 10 – Aug. 9 at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Pkwy. East, Sarasota, and sessions at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail, will be held from June 24 - 28 and July 22 – 26 only. Early morning drop-off is available at SCF Lakewood Ranch for an additional fee.

In addition, classes covering a variety of topics such as puppetry, jewelry design, safari, science, wedding planning, writing, dancing and cooking also will be held at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West for ages 7-15 from June 11 – Aug. 10.
