T.S. ANDREA UPDATE: SCF MONITORING STORM
Time of advisory: 8 a.m. June 6, 2013 -- The National Hurricane Center has issued a tropical storm warning after Tropical Storm Andrea formed in the Gulf of Mexico. At this time the storm is expected to produce heavy rainfall in Manatee and Sarasota areas but the storm's center is forecast to track north of our area with northeastern Florida and southeastern Georgia experiencing the main impact.
SCF officials are monitoring Tropical Storm Andrea. SCF and SCFCS will continue normal operations and class schedules unless a change is needed. Any announcements will be made via SCF's emergency communications channels.
The College encourages students and staff to take proper precautions for driving safety in heavy rainfall and to update contact info to be notified if there is a disruption in operations at any time during the hurricane season. Go to scf.edu/emergency and follow the directions.
