SCF Among Top 50 Associate Degree Producers
(Bradenton, Fla., June 25, 2013) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) was named among the top 50 and top 100 associate degree producers for two-year and four-year institutions nationwide in a special report published in June by Community College Week magazine.
In the Top 50 associate degree producers ranking, SCF was 32nd in the "arts and sciences, general studies and humanities" listing, which reflects SCF's standing as a strong Associate in Arts transfer degree-granting college.
SCF ranked 80th in the four-year institutions "all disciplines – total non-minority" category and 90th in the "all disciplines" listing of both two-year and four-year institutions for awarding 1,714 degrees in the 2011-2012 academic year.
The national biweekly magazine for community, technical and junior colleges listed two- and four-year institutions. Results are based on data gathered by the U.S. Department of Education.
Established in 1957, SCF is the region's first and largest public college. More than 41,000 students have graduated from SCF in its 56-year history.
