SCF Hosts Bay Street Brassworks Master Class and Concert Jan. 17
(Bradenton, Fla., December 19, 2013) — The Bay Street Brassworks will perform a brass quintet concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, in State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota's (SCF) Neel Performing Arts Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W. A master class, which is free and open to the public, will be led by Bay Street Brassworks prior to the concert 5-7 p.m. in Neel Performing Arts Center.
As one of America's finest award-winning brass ensembles, Bay Street Brassworks will perform a wide variety of musical genres ranging from Bach to bebop.
Internationally acclaimed Bay Street Brassworks is the premiere educational brass ensemble, performing at major universities and in educational programs, demonstration concerts, master classes and individual clinics. The brass ensemble has appeared throughout the United States and abroad with the American Brass Quintet, New York Brass Quintet, Harvey Phillips, Gunther Schuller and Eric Ewazen; and shared the stage with members of the Annapolis and New York Brass quintets, Baltimore Symphony brass section, National Symphony Orchestra brass section and Masterworks Chorales of Westminster, Md. Bay Street Brassworks also has received numerous awards, including the grand prize at the 2003 New York Brass Conference International Brass Quintet competition.
