SCF to Assist Students with Completing FAFSA

(Bradenton, Fla., February 20, 2014) – State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Financial Aid Services will host workshops at SCF Bradenton and SCF Venice to assist new and returning students with completing their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2014-15 academic year.

FAFSA Frenzy workshops will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26; Tuesday, March 11; Wednesday, March 19; Tuesday, March 25; Wednesday, April 2; Tuesday, April 8 and Wednesday, April 16, in the Club Hub at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., Student Union, building 14.  Workshops also will be held 1-2:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail, building 100, room 173; and noon-1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, and noon-1:30 p.m., April 17, at SCF Venice, building 100, room 174.

SCF financial aid counselors will answer students’ questions and help them complete their FAFSA to meet the priority deadline of May 1, 2014. Earlier applications are strongly suggested to allow sufficient review and ensure that all required information has been included.

The FAFSA application is online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. SCF students can check their financial aid status by going to scf.edu/SCFconnect.
