SCF Choirs to Present “Sonic Art”

(Bradenton, Fla., February 26, 2014) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Concert Choir and Chamber Choir will present "Sonic Art" at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., in Neel Performing Arts Center, building 11 East, off 60th Avenue West between 26th and 34th streets, accessible from parking lots H or I.

Under the direction of Melodie Dickerson, SCF Choirs will explore the intersection of choral music and art in a unique presentation of music and multimedia images.  A variety of music will be presented, including works by Randall Thompson, Ola Gjiello, Eric Whitacre and Frank Tichelli.   Student soloists Nikkei Golden, soprano, and Alexander Zickafoose, tenor, will be featured along with student conductors Julia Dubsky and Fernando Vera. Lurray Myers serves as the accompanist for the choirs.
