SCF Jazz Guitarist Marc Mannino to Perform Faculty Concert
(Bradenton, Fla., April 3, 2014) — State College of Florida, Manatee – Sarasota (SCF) music faculty member Marc Mannino, jazz guitarist, will perform with guest artists in a concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., in Neel Performing Arts Center, building 11 East. It’s off 60th Avenue West between 26th and 34th streets, accessible from parking lots H or I.
Mannino will perform with John Miller, SCF adjunct music instructor and principal bass in the Florida West Coast Symphony; George Mancini, principal trombonist for the Charlotte Symphony; and Bob Lunergan, a drummer for a percussionist band, Wordworks Music.
Mannino, conductor of the SCF Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo, is a graduate of Florida State University School of Music with degrees in both music performance and music education. He earned his educational specialist degree by applying existing music research to a real-life classroom setting, proving that music, as a reinforcer, has the ability to modify behavior. Mannino has performed at major jazz and community festivals throughout the United States and has been the accompanist for Broadway stars Idina Menzel and Bernadette Peters.
