SCF Studio 84 Productions Presents “The Best of Everything”

(Bradenton, Fla., Sept. 26, 2014) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Studio 84 Productions will present “The Best of Everything” in October in the David S. & Anne V. Howard Studio Theatre at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W.

Written by Julie Kramer and based on the 1958 novel by Rona Jaffe, “The Best of Everything” is set in a New York publishing company, where five young and ambitious secretaries seek thrilling careers, a few adventures and, in due time, husbands and families. Today we call that “having it all;” in the 1950s they called it “the best of everything.” And the young women aren’t sure it’s possible, either.

The comedy is directed by associate professor Dean Anthony and features SCF veterans Jaelynn Clark, Summer Begalka, Jalex Beghtel, John David Dorsey and Mary Ellis. They are joined by newcomers Nader Ajib, Makenna Chandler, Madeline Crites, Alley Hathaway and Tyler Rudolf.

Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. Oct. 3-4 and Oct. 10-11 and 2 p.m. Oct. 5 and 12, in the Howard Studio Theatre. The theatre is Building 11 West, off 60th Avenue West between 26th and 34th streets, accessible from parking lot I.

General admission is $12; $10 for students and SCF employees. For more information, call the Neel Performing Arts Center box office at 941-752-5252. Hours are 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Maps and directions are online at
