SCF Recognizes Promotions, New Faculty Members and Collegiate School Instructors

(Bradenton, Fla., Sept. 11, 2015) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) announced faculty members who earned promotions, new faculty members and new SCF Collegiate School (SCFCS) instructors.

The following SCF faculty members were promoted to professor: Dr. Cheri Kittrell, Social and Behavioral Sciences; Dr. John McCree, Art, Design, Humanities; and Dr. C. Altay Ozgener, Mathematics. Promoted to Associate Professor were Gladys Green, Social and Behavioral Sciences; Mary Jane Randolph, Health Professions; and Diane Taylor, Health Professions. Promoted to Assistant Professor were Suzanne Bechtol, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Dr. Eric Warrick, Natural Sciences.

New faculty members include Larry Appowitt, Nursing; Dr. Frances Auld, Language and Literature; Kimberly Bastin, Dental Hygiene; Penny Duncan, Nursing; Judy Hangartner, Business and Technology; John Montoya, Business and Technology; Nicolette Mason, Speech; Mary Lou Prouch, Nursing; Jason Reed, Business and Technology; Margaret Rich, Art, Design, Humanities; Craig Smith, Theatre; Dr. Jaqueline Smith, Language and Literature; Jennifer Swartout, Math; and Dr. Phillip Travis, Social and Behavioral Sciences.

In addition, new SCFCS instructors were introduced: Emily Vargas, Middle School Science, and David Nields, Drama.
