SCF Designated Military Friendly School for 6th Year

(Bradenton, Fla., Nov. 10, 2015) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) recently earned a Military Friendly School designation by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs, for the sixth time.

The Military Friendly Schools designation provides service members and their families with transparent, data-driven ratings about post-military education and career opportunities.

There are nearly 370 veterans and their dependents enrolled at SCF.

“SCF is committed not only to the recruitment and retention of students with military experience, but to ensuring the success of military service members, veterans and spouses as college students,” said Dr. Carol F. Probstfeld, SCF president. “We are honored to once again receive this designation for 2016.”

SCF’s Veterans Centers offer assistance with admissions, course selection, financial aid and tutoring, while student clubs, including the SCF Bradenton and Venice chapters of the Student Veterans of America, provide support to veterans as they adjust to civilian life.
