SCF Foundation Sundays at Neel to present the Glenn Miller Orchestra

(Bradenton, Fla., Dec. 18, 2015) – The second installment of the 2015-16 State College of Florida (SCF) Foundation’s Sundays at Neel series will feature the Glenn Miller Orchestra at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at SCF Bradenton in Neel Performing Arts Center, 5840 26th St. W., Building 11 East. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at the Neel box office or by calling 941-752-5252.

One of the most popular and sought-after big bands in the world, the Glenn Miller Orchestra was formed in 1956. The group has been playing consistently since, with an average of 300 dates each year around the world, making it the longest touring big band in history. The orchestra consists of music director Nick Hilscher, five saxophone players, four trumpeters, four trombonists, three rhythm musicians on piano, bass and drums, and a male and female vocalist.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra will perform its signature Moonlight Serenade, Chattanooga Choo Choo, In the Mood and other favorites, as well as lesser-known tunes including Rainbow Rhapsody, The White Cliffs of Dover and That’s Sabotage.

Individual tickets to any concert in the series are $30 or $35; a six-show subscription is $126 (or $21 per show). Upcoming concerts include The Brothers Four on Jan. 24 and Buddy (Holly) and Beyond on Feb. 14.
