SCF Veterans Group Raises Money for Care Packages to Send to Troops

(Bradenton, Fla., Dec. 18, 2015) — The Venice chapter of the Student Veterans of America (SVA) of State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota raised $341 at its SCF Venice Veterans Day barbecue for Military Ministries of Nokomis.

All proceeds will be used to assemble and send care packages outfitted with snacks and other supplies to troops deployed in the Middle East.

The mission of the SVA is to provide military veterans with the resources, support and advocacy needed to succeed in higher education and following graduation. SCF maintains SVA chapters on the Bradenton and Venice campuses.
