SCF Foundation Benefactors Beverly Beall and Kemp Riechmann Honored with Leadership Spirit Award

(Bradenton, Fla., March 15, 2015) — State College of Florida (SCF) Foundation Benefactors Beverly Beall and Kemp Riechmann were overwhelmed when the crowd welcomed them with a standing ovation for receiving the Leadership Spirit Award at the Spirit of Manatee Awards March 4.

“We are honored to have received this award after being nominated by the State College of Florida Foundation,” said Beall, who considers her service on the SCF’s Board of Trustees and the SCF Foundation Board of Directors to be her most rewarding philanthropic board service.

The award is especially fitting during Bealls’ 100th anniversary year since Beall and Riechmann feel their philanthropy would not have been possible without the legacy of Robert M. Beall, Sr.

Beall and Riechmann were nominated by SCF Foundation Executive Director Cassandra Holmes for their financial support of SCF students through the Beverly Beall and R. Kemp Riechmann Foundation, which began in 1997 to give college scholarship to needy but capable students.

Since its inception, many SCF students have received scholarships from the Beverly Beall and R. Kemp Riechmann Foundation through the SCF Foundation, which is proud to partner with Beall and Riechmann to transform students’ lives.

“Beverly and Kemp have made an indelible mark on our community because in their support of college students, they have not stopped with providing funds for tuition and books. They have come alongside students during their educational journey to advise them on career choices and helped them overcome obstacles to their education by giving them money to purchase computers, repair their cars or reduce their work hours so that they could focus on their studies,” Holmes said.
