“Disorderly Music in a World of Chaos!” is Title of SCF Faculty Recital

(Bradenton, Fla., April 9, 2015) – State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) composition professor Rex Willis will give a faculty recital at 8 p.m. April 16 in Neel Performing Arts Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W.

“Disorderly Music in a World of Chaos!” will include traditional, original compositions and experimental music, featuring guitar solos, guitar ensemble, piano duos, percussion music and harp.

Guest artists include Ann Hopson Pilot, former harpist for 40 years for the Boston Orchestra; Chuck Hulihan, an active guitar ensemble clinician who performs throughout the United States, and his wife, Theresa, a flutist; other area professionals. SCF faculty and students also will join Willis in the concert.

Willis, director of guitar and composition studies at SCF, is a published composer whose music has been performed all over the world. He also has composed the film scores for several award-winning independent movies, along with the score for the musical “¡Ybor!”

Admission is $8, $4 for students and SCF employees.
