SCF Dental Hygiene Students Keep Tradition of Excellence Alive

(Bradenton, Fla., May 14, 2015) – State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) dental hygiene students excelled on the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination, passing on the first attempt and continuing the tradition of SCF’s 100 percent pass rate since the program began 16 years ago.

Students passing the board exam in March included Spring 2015 graduates Megan Arnett, Marina Donato, Monica Garrido, Yuliya Gordiychuk, Courtney Hoffman, Marlene Ramirez, Elisha Reagin, Karen Rodriguez, Felicia Taylor, Larisa Todosiciuc and Stefany Zuenskes.

SCF students scored highest on management of patient care, landing in the top 1 percent of all students testing nationwide. Other strong areas were pathology, top 5 percent, and periodontology, top 12 percent.

Pam Kennard is SCF’s Dental Hygiene program director. As one of the health professions at SCF, the Dental Hygiene Program offers students the opportunity to gain practical experience on modern equipment in SCF’s Dental Hygiene Clinic designed for patient comfort and quality care.

The program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
