SCF Helps Students with Coursework Compliance to Maximize Financial Aid

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota is helping students maximize their financial aid and minimize their student debt through a series of efforts aimed at keeping students on track with their coursework.

SCF has posted a video and informational resources on federal regulations concerning financial aid requirements for students. The information is designed to help ensure students will be eligible for federal financial aid for four years, including transfer programs. This will help students minimize student loan debt and keep them on track to graduate as early as possible.

Federal regulations regarding financial aid require students to take classes that count toward their degree or certificate programs. The presentations offered online at inform students about the regulations as well as the exceptions, such as aid for remedial coursework and English as a second language courses.

To be eligible for federal financial aid, students must declare a major and be officially admitted into the program. In addition to studying the online materials, students should meet with their academic advisors and with financial counselors to review their financial aid awards.
