Musical Theatre Ensemble Showcase Features Broadway Musicals

(Bradenton, Fla., April 12, 2015) – The music program at State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will present a free Musical Theatre Ensemble Showcase “When I Grow Up” at 8 p.m. Monday, April 18 in the Neel Performing Arts Center, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W.

The showcase will feature songs and scenes from Broadway musicals that deal with growing up – the difficulties and triumphs. Talented singers and musicians from the college will present duets, trios and group numbers from Broadway shows, including “Matilda,” “Grease,” “Dreamgirls,” “Into The Woods,” “Wicked,” “Calvin and Hobbes” and “Reefer Madness.”

Melodie Dickerson, music program director, will direct the showcase with Lurray Myers providing musical direction and accompaniment. The Showcase offers opportunities for students enrolled in the class to direct, choreograph and costume their scenes.
