SCF Offers Classes for English Language Learners

(Bradenton, Fla., May 12, 2016) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) is offering beginning English classes in the English Language Learning program this month.

New classes in Bradenton begin May 16 and continue for 12 weeks. English for College is an intensive program for adults who are beginner and high-beginner English language learners. The program helps adults reach the level of English needed to be accepted as a student at SCF. Even though the English for College program is specially designed for students who plan to eventually attend college at SCF, other students who are interested in professional or academic English skills are welcome.

This program is not a conversation class; it is designed for those who want to improve their language skills to get into college or who want a more academic approach to learning English. The program is designed for high school graduates from any country.

The cost of the 12-week program is $750 and includes tuition, books and online learning support. To register, go to the office of Corporate and Community Development, in Building 18, room 139. Offices are open 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.  Please bring your high school diploma and a translation if you have it. Bring identification and be ready to pay for the program at the time of registration. Also be prepared to take a one-hour test in English to determine the best class for you based on language skills.
