SCF, Manatee-Sarasota to Have Two Featured Selections at Cine-World 2016

(Bradenton, Fla., Nov. 1, 2016) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) and its Digital Cinema program will return to the Cine-World Film Festival with featured selections directed by SCF students Wendy Hall and Joyce El. Student films will be screened at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, and at noon Sunday, Nov. 13, at Burns Court Cinemas, 506 Burns Lane, Sarasota.

“Jiminy’s Reversal,” directed by Hall, is a film about a property manager who navigates a mystery about his company’s financial woes while coping with the death of a dear friend. “Deeper Than the Grave: A Conversation with Horace Dozier,” directed by El, features an unsung hero of the last generation of original gravediggers. The documentary is about Dozier’s sense of duty and his love for the people in his community.

SCF has had an association with the Sarasota Film Society, host of the film festival, since the 1990s as a partner and promoter for this important annual event. The 2016 Cine-World Film Festival will be held Nov. 4-13 and will include a variety of films. For more information, visit or call 941-955-3456.
