SCF, Manatee-Sarasota Students Inducted Into International Honor Society

(Bradenton, Fla., Nov. 17, 2016) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) congratulates 78 students who have been inducted into the SCF Bradenton Nu Zeta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society of two-year colleges. Eligible students must have completed 12 hours of coursework toward an associate’s degree and have a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Kaitlin Folsom, a State College of Florida Collegiate School student who took first place in a Florida Exchange Club competition last spring for her Americanism Speech, sang the national anthem during the new member induction ceremony held Nov. 4. Emily Moore, who served as Vice President of Leadership for the chapter in 2012-13, was the keynote speaker. Moore works for SCF as an advising specialist.

During the new member induction, 10 Nu Zeta Chapter Officers were named: Juliana Aria, president; Folsom, vice president of leadership; Felicia May, vice president of fellowship; Damien Bobrek, vice president of scholarship; Palwusha Khan, vice president of service; Ydelmis Curtino, public relations; Tristan Pearson; recording secretary; Matthew Johnson, fundraising; Yeshe Breeze, communications; and Christina Long, historian.
