The NALA CLA/CP certification, a nationally recognized certification for legal assistants and paralegals, is acknowledged by the legal community as a sign of professionalism and competence. Lawyers delegate to paralegals many tasks, which may include helping to prepare for real estate closings, interviews, hearings, mediation, trials and corporate meetings, and draft correspondence and pleadings. Employment opportunities exist in government, private law practices, corporate offices, title companies and real estate agencies.

Many of SCF’s paralegal courses, which are taught by attorneys and qualified paralegals, are project-oriented and offer hands-on experience. For more information about SCF’s Paralegal/Legal Assisting Program, visit scf.edu/ParalegalLegalAssisting, email paralegal@scf.edu or call 941-752-5359.
