SCF, Manatee-Sarasota Brings Cheer to Children

(Bradenton, Fla., Dec. 21, 2016) —  A team from State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), including College mascot, Maverick the Manatee, and Dr. Carol Probstfeld, SCF president, visited the pediatric units at two hospitals on Wednesday to bring cheer to sick children.

The team visited Sarasota Memorial Hospital and Manatee Memorial Hospital where SCF alumni serve as nurses. Dr. Probstfeld brought a gift basket to the pediatric units to help spread cheer and to thank those serving over the holidays. Maverick brought a little merriment to the children as he visited with them and took pictures with staff.

SCF alumni nurses joined the fun, including a few who graduated just last Friday. The partnership between SCF and Sarasota Memorial Hospital and Manatee Memorial Hospital is vital to our community. SCF works with the hospitals to make sure the nurses have the skills they need when they graduate.
