Jacobs Family Start Scholarship for SCF Business Students

(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 7, 2017) — Kyle and Pamela Jacobs of Fairway Funding Group Mortgage Lender have created a new scholarship for State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) business and finance students.

The scholarship is for first time in college students who enroll in a degree-seeking program at SCF. They should be eligible to receive in-state tuition, have a 3.0 grade point average and be employed at least 10 hours a week. The scholarship will be awarded to two students per year in the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 school years.

“I wanted to support someone who wants to work hard,” said Kyle Jacobs who works to help homebuyers acquire mortgages.

Both Kyle and Pamela Jacobs have associate’s degrees from community colleges where they grew up, hers is in nursing and his is in business. Their goal is to support students who are enrolled at a local college. They chose SCF for its philosophy of promoting internships and reputation of helping graduates find jobs.

The two students who were awarded the scholarship for 2016-2017 are Brittany Byerley and Breana Thornton. The State College of Florida Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 academic year scholarships.
