Local Student Music Groups to Unite for Concert at SCF, Manatee-Sarasota

(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 14, 2017) — The Music Department at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will present “United in Song,” bringing together eight student music groups, at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28 in SCF’s Neel Performing Arts Center, 5840 26th St. W., Bradenton.

The SCF Concert Choir, Chamber Choir and Presidential Vocal Ensemble will be joined by choirs from Bayshore High School, Lee Middle School, Manatee School for the Arts, Moody Elementary School and Palmetto High School. “United in Song” will feature two numbers with all the groups along with individual choir performances, and the audience will be invited to participate. The SCF Choirs are under the direction of Melodie Dickerson and accompanied by pianist Lurray Myers.

General admission is $8; students and SCF employees, $4. Tickets can be purchased at or by calling the box office, 752-5252. During the construction of SCF’s new Library and Learning Center, parking for SCF’s Neel Performing Arts Center will be west of Building 11, in Parking Lot I. Entrance to the auditorium remains on the east side of the building, with a drop-off area directly to the south of the front doors. Signs along 60th Avenue West and the drive lanes on campus guide patrons to the drop-off area and parking.
