SCF, Manatee-Sarasota Nursing Graduates Achieve 100% Pass Rate on National Exam

(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 28, 2017) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) nursing graduates from the Spring 2016 graduating class have earned a 100 percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Registered Nurses. The exam is designed to test nurses on areas such as management of care, safety and infection control, health promotion and maintenance, basic care and comfort and medication therapies.

According to a report by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, SCF nursing graduates outperformed state and national averages. SCF’s 2016 nurse graduates ranked number one out of 1,946 programs across every jurisdiction tested. For the testing period from April to September, 55 SCF graduates took the test and all of them passed, scoring high in comparison to national test takers in areas such as protective functioning, nutrition, comfort, rest, activity and mobility, as well as growth and development. The national pass rate for the NCLEX was 86 percent.
