Annual Spring Fling Concert Salutes SCF’s 60th Anniversary
(Bradenton, Fla., April 11, 2017) — Music students at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will give their annual Spring Fling concert at 7 p.m. April 27 at the outdoor Performance Pavilion, 5840 26th St. W.
This year’s theme is “Down Through the Decades” in a salute to SCF’s 60th Anniversary and the many popular styles of music from 1957 to the present. Featured ensembles will include the Chamber and Concert choirs under the direction of Melodie Dickerson, the Jazz Big Band and Jazz Combo under the direction of Dr. Pete Carney, the Symphonic Band under the direction of Dr. Robyn Bell, and the Guitar Ensemble under the direction of Rex Willis.
The Performance Pavilion is just east of the Student Union, Building 14. Bring lawn chairs or blankets for a delightful evening on the grounds of SCF’s Bradenton campus. Sorry, no coolers will be allowed. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held in SCF’s Neel Performing Arts Center.
