SCF Alumnus Ryan Bodie Returns to SCF for Local Premiere of “Generational Sins”

(Bradenton, Fla., Oct. 5, 2017) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will locally premiere the film “Generational Sins” at 2 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Oct. 7 at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., Bldg. 10, Rm. 115. Sponsored by the SCF Film Club, the screening is part of a 10-city tour. Cinematographer and SCF alumnus Ryan Bodie will lead a Q&A session after each showing.

The PG-13-rated movie follows two estranged brothers as they fulfill their dying mother’s wish on a road trip to the place they were born leading them on an emotional journey haunted by events the younger brother can’t remember and the older wants nothing more than to forget. As each reconnects to the town and its people, the brothers struggle to find the meaning of “home.”

“Generational Sins” explores themes of grace and forgiveness diving into the nature of how these concepts, experiences and ideals impact the very decisions we make and their ramifications.

Bodie’s other film credits include “Ragamuffin” based on the life of Rich Mullins and “Click-Clack Jack,” Film of the Year winner at the 2008 Christian WYSIWYG Festival. Two other films, “St. Frank of New York City” and “Beast in Me” are currently in pre-production.
