The Venice Young Marines from Venice Middle School will speak about the history of Veterans Day and present a color guard at 11 a.m. Monday at the Performance Pavilion, SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.

All SCF enrolled military members and veteran students will be presented with gifts of appreciation throughout the week. Student veterans who are not already affiliated with SCF Veteran Services should be prepared to show a military ID, a DD214 or a driver’s license with a “V” identifier.

SCF will welcome veterans’ service organizations on the campuses, including Veterans Administration Health Benefits representatives, Goodwill Manasota, Vocational Rehabilitation, the Army National Guard, SCF Career Resource Center and Sarasota Vet Center. Venice students, staff and faculty are encouraged to wear red on Tuesday in honor of military personnel who are deployed. Bradenton students, staff and faculty are encouraged to wear red Wednesday. Service members are encouraged to bring patches for the patch board in Veteran Services.
