Four MCC Administrators Complete National Leadership Program
(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 10, 2005) - Two Manatee Community College (MCC) department chairs and two program directors recently graduated from a year-long Academy for Leadership and Development. They are Dr. Cynthia Vensel, chair, social and behavioral sciences; Dr. Anthony Gambino, chair, natural science; Kathy Biggs, director, instructional technology and distance learning; and Debbie Chasanoff, director, occupational therapy assistant program.
The Academy was created for the purpose of advancing organizational leadership and providing succession planning for leaders in community and technical colleges. The nationwide program includes two weeks of on-site training; implementation of an individualized professional development plan; and a mentor program. MCC participants' on-site training was at Valencia and Hillsborough community colleges. Participants are nominated by their individual colleges.
