MCC Studio 84 Presents Dearly Departed
(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 27, 2005) - A colorful, dysfunctional and drop-dead funny Southern family takes the stage in a Manatee Community College (MCC) Studio 84 production of "Dearly Departed" that opens at 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12, in the John W. James Studio Theatre, located off 26th Street at 60th Avenue West, MCC Bradenton. Other performances are 8 p.m., Feb. 14 through 17 and 19, and 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 13.
Reunited to give Daddy Bud a proper sendoff, members of the outrageous Turpin family find themselves rehashing family feuds and marital flings as they haggle over headstones and deal with hangovers. Written by David Bottrell and Jessie Jones, the play won six Drama Logue Awards in a Los Angeles, Calif. Production.
The Turpins are played by Megan Sisk, Hunter Kallenbach, Jennifer Woll, Paul Bigley, K.S. Klos, Philip Troyer, Kali Blankenship and Ben Adams. Family friends are played by Ryan Dowd Urch, Annikki Dalton, Jason Bilesimo, Molly Healy, Dillon Welch, Allison Taylor and Moira Carroll.
