MCC Choirs Perform "Music of the Masters"

(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 23, 2005) - Manatee Community College (MCC) concert and chamber choirs will present "Music of the Masters" in a classical music concert at 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, in Neel Performing Arts Center, located off 26^th Street at 60^th Avenue West. Featured performers are winners of student competition held at the 2005 Florida Community College Activities Association's (FCCAA) Winter Music Symposium.

Four MCC students won and another earned an honorable mention in the FCCAA competition held in Tallahassee Jan. 27 and 28. Winners are singers Cole Dodds and Monica Valenzuela, guitarist Bradley Dorrill and percussionist Ben Meyer. Each received a $1,000 renewable scholarship. Pianist Josh Ewing received an honorable mention. Melodie Guinta will conduct the choirs. Lurray Myers is the accompanist. Selections include works by Brahms, Beethoven, Casals and Vivaldi.
