Industrial Symposium for Managers Offered at MCC
(Bradenton, Fla., March 17, 2005) - An Industrial Symposium for senior, mid-level and new managers will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, April 15, at Manatee Community College (MCC) Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Parkway East. The symposium is co-sponsored by the Sarasota Manatee Manufacturers' Association.
Topics to be covered include Managing People; Leading and Coaching; and Dealing with Difficult People. A demonstration of ACT online workforce classes, which are offered in the ACT Center at MCC Lakewood Ranch, will show how students may choose from among 2,000 online courses to address their individual needs on a personal computer. Dr. Idelia Phillips, MCC's director of career and technical education, will make a luncheon presentation about the need for a skilled workforce and the college's role in providing training to meet the needs of the labor market.
