MCC's Free GED Program Offered at Two New Sites

(Bradenton, Fla., Sept. 2, 2005) - Manatee Community College's (MCC) free general education (GED) test preparation and counseling program recently expanded to include classes at MCC Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Parkway East, and the Braden River Branch of the Manatee County Library, 4915 53rd Ave. East, Bradenton.  The hours the program is offered at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, were expanded.

The program also is offered at MCC Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.  Successful completion of the GED test is the nationally recognized equivalent of a high school diploma. Classes and counseling are offered:

  • 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 4 to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, MCC Bradenton;
  • 4 to 9 p.m., Monday and Wednesday, MCC Venice;
  • 9 a.m. to noon, Monday and Wednesday, MCC Lakewood Ranch; and
  • 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, Braden River Branch, Manatee County Library.
