MCC Club Sponsors Career & Health Fair
(Bradenton, Fla., Oct.17, 2005) - The Manatee Community College (MCC) Student Nurse Association will hold a free Career and Health Fair 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4, in the Hal Chasey Gymnasium at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, and in the Nursing Wing of the Professional Development Center at MCC Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.
Members of the public are invited to learn about health concerns and diseases, including risk factors and prevention, and take free blood pressure tests. Other participating local colleges and hospitals include the University of South Florida; Manatee Memorial, Blake and Fawcett Memorial hospitals; and the Venice Regional Medical Center.
Student nurses will provide information about diabetes, cancer, hypertension, stress reduction and other health issues. They will cover signs, symptoms and coping techniques. Representatives from MCC and other colleges will offer information about educational opportunities in the health sciences. Career options will be covered by spokespersons from local hospitals.
