MCC Professor Recognized as Outstanding Educator
(Bradenton, Fla., Dec. 9, 2005) - Manatee Community College (MCC) Professor Jane Pfeilsticker has won a 2005 Outstanding Educator Award from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Florida (UF). It is the third time Pfeilsticker has won the award.
Three former MCC students nominated Pfeilsticker for the 2005 award in recognition of her support and guidance in helping them accomplish their academic goals. She received certificates of recognition for her dedication and outstanding contributions to each of the nominating students' progress in accomplishing their academic goals.
Pfeilsticker has a bachelor's degree in medical technology and microbiology from Pennsylvania State University and a master's degree in microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She worked as a senior research associate at Baylor School of Medicine and as a research associate and graduate assistant at the University of South Florida before joining the MCC faculty in 1996.
