MCC Studio 84 Presents Heaven Can Wait
(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 23, 2006) - Manatee Community College (MCC) Studio 84 Productions will present the fantasy-comedy, Heaven Can Wait, at 8 p.m., Feb. 21 through 25, in the John W. James Studio Theatre, located off 26th Street at 60th Avenue West, MCC Bradenton. The play by Harry Segall explores what happens when an over-anxious heavenly messenger takes a soul too soon and an archangel tries to correct the error with hilarious results.
Directed by Dean Anthony, the play was the subject of three popular films about hapless prize-fighter Joe, who gets taken to heaven 60 years too soon. Archangel Mr. Jordan tries to atone for the grievous error by putting Joe's soul in the body of a millionaire. Easy money doesn't prove to be a heavenly solution for Joe. He works to get the rich man's body into shape and romance a beautiful adversary, while using his wits to avoid a murderous wife and private secretary.
Duran Dunkle plays the role of Joe and James Thaggard is Mr. Jordan. Other cast members are Jennifer Woll, Molly Healy, Paul Bigley, Kelly Clark, Joshua Fishbein, Kali Blankenship, Moira Carroll, Kennedy Cranford, Jordan Fuchs, Eric Gavin, Nathan James, Hunter Kallenbach, K.S.
