Two Versatile Artists Showcase Works at MCC Venice
(Venice, Fla., Jan. 26, 2006) - Works by versatile artists Andree Schroeder and Kathleen Winder will be showcased in an exhibit that continues through March 6 at the Manatee Community College (MCC) Venice Fine Art Gallery, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.
After more than 20 years as a potter and sculptor, Schroeder added watercolor, painting and fused glass to her artistic endeavors. She's won numerous awards and has seven works in Pensacola's "Arts in Public Buildings" program. Her work also appears in the Museum of American Craftsmen in Pittsburgh, Pa., and was touted in a Sunshine Artists article in USA Magazine.
Winder, owner of Final Touch Frame and Gallery, Venice, focuses on the human form in her oil, pastel and charcoal works. A graduate of Ringling School of Art and Design, she received a prestigious Arts Champion plaque from the Arts and Culture Alliance in 2005 for her active participation with area organizations like the Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice, Venice Art Center and Venice Art in Public Places beautification group.
The exhibit is located in the library foyer. Regular gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday. For more information, call (941) 408-1476.
