MCC Lakewood Ranch Facility Celebrates Third Anniversary
(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 21, 2006) -- The Center for Innovation and Technology (CIT) at Manatee Community College (MCC) Lakewood Ranch celebrated its third anniversary in January. Since opening in 2003, the CIT has served 36,813 people in credit and noncredit classes and internal and external events.
Since its opening, the CIT has been the site for seminars, staff development workshops and meetings with receptions. The CIT features a 156-seat high-tech auditorium, computer classrooms, 15 meeting rooms of various sizes, videoconferencing capability, online courses, a spacious catering facility and a mobile laptop lab for onsite training. The center's well-equipped, flexible meeting rooms and location, at 7131 Professional Parkway East near University Parkway and I-75, make it a popular rental site for business, government, nonprofits and industry for training purposes and community events.
MCC's Institute of Workforce Development Services, headquartered at the CIT, typically serves 40 companies per year with customized contract training offered at the CIT, MCC Bradenton and MCC Venice, or on-site. An ACT Center located at the CIT also provides state-of-the-art testing and training programs using computers and is a portal for more than 2,000 online courses.
