Two MCC Trustees Reappointed
(Bradenton, Fla., March 16, 2006) - Gov. Jeb Bush has reappointed Rip duPont and Stephen Boone to the Manatee Community College (MCC) District Board of Trustees for terms ending May 31, 2010. Dupont is chair of the board and Boone is vice-chair.
DuPont, a Bradenton resident, was initially appointed in 1999 and has served as board chair since then. The chair and CEO of First National Bank and Trust, he also serves as chair of Manatee Chamber of Commerce and is on the St. Stephens Episcopal School's board of directors. He is a former chair of United Way of Manatee County and formerly served on the Florida Bankers Association board of directors.
Boone, a Venice native, was appointed to the MCC board by Bush in May 2002, and is serving his third year as vice-chairman. An attorney with the firm
of Boone, Boone, Boone, Koda and Frook, P.A., he is president of the Venice Advisory Board for the Boys and Girls Club of Sarasota County, and a member of the Coalition to Support Assistant Living and Venice-Nokomis Rotary Club. He also has served on the Foundation for MCC Board of Directors and is a past president of the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce.
