Find Out About State Funds for Training Workers in MCC Presentation
(Bradenton, Fla., May 26, 2006) - The State of Florida Incumbent Worker Training Program provides grant funding for customized training for existing for-profit businesses. Local businesspersons may find out how to apply for the grants from Catherine Kennedy, director of the state grant program, in a presentation from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, June 2, at the Center for Innovation and Technology at Manatee Community College (MCC) Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Parkway East, Sarasota.
Designed to help keep businesses competitive by offering a way to upgrade the skills of existing full-time employees, the state program has provided customized training for more than 50,000 employees throughout the state since 1999. The flexible structure of the program allows businesses to meet individualized training objectives.
