MCC Dental Hygiene Graduates Pass Exam
(Bradenton, Fla., June 1, 2006) -- One hundred percent of the 13-member 2006 graduating class of the Manatee Community College (MCC) Dental Hygiene Program passed the National Board Examination. Graduates of MCC's program have boasted a 100 percent pass rate on the national examination for all six years of the program's existence.
Graduates who passed the exam are Heather Collins, Bradenton; Diana Correa, Sarasota; Heidi Elkin, Sarasota; Brandy Fontaine, Bradenton; Shawn Lutz, Englewood; Ashley Matelau, Palmetto; Kristine Page, Sarasota; Jeanne Paulus, Bradenton; Brandi Perry, Englewood; Aimee Prough, Venice; Eufracia Romero, Sarasota; Sara Sanchez, Sarasota; and Yuliya Stanek, Sarasota.
MCC's two-year Dental Hygiene Program was developed in response to local dentists' demand for hygienists. It prepares students for employment as dental health educators and clinicians in a variety of settings that include private dental practice, public health departments, institutional and research facilities, and pubic and private schools. Graduates receive associate in science degrees and are eligible to take national and state licensing examinations.
