Info Session & Open Houses to be Held
(Bradenton, Fla., June 22, 2006) - With enrollment for Fall term 2006 classes under way, students and prospective students of all ages and interests are invited to learn more about Manatee Community College's (MCC) programs and services - and how easy it is to sign up for them - at an upcoming Information Session at MCC Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail. In addition, Open Houses at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, and MCC Venice will feature informational department displays and a scholarship drawing for eligible high school students.
The iformation session will be hosted by an MCC outreach services advisor and will include a campus tour. Participants will learn about MCC credit and noncredit programs; how to enroll and get a successful start at MCC; and financial aid options.
The information session is from 11 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, July 26, room 832, building 800, MCC Venice.
The Summer 2006 Open House programs offer an opportunity for high school students, their families and others interested in higher education to learn more about specific services provided by academic departments, financial aid and student advisement.
An Open House will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 25, in the Student Services Center, building 1, at MCC Bradenton; and Wednesday, July 26, in the Student Services Center, building 100, at MCC Venice.
MCC offers an associate in arts (A.A.) degree and some associate in science (A.S.) degrees for students who intend to transfer to university programs and more than 20 associate in applied science (A.A.S.) degrees that prepare students to enter the workforce immediately upon graduation. Noncredit options include Corporate and Community Development personal enrichment and professional development classes; and a free general education (GED) test preparation and counseling program.
