New MCC Enrollment Services Director Announced
(Bradenton, Fla., July 18, 2006) - Jennifer L. Blalock is the new enrollment services director at Manatee Community College (MCC). Blalock has a diversity of experience as a director, dean, teacher, counselor and academic advisor.
Most recently the director of education and training for Crosswinds Youth Services in Cocoa, she was previously the dean of student services at Brevard Community College's Virtual Campus, Titusville. In the latter position, she coordinated the merger of student services for Virtual and Titusville campuses to provide service to nearly 9,000 students. While she was its dean, the Virtual Campus received an Outstanding Distance Learning Education Program award from the Instructional Technology Council. In 2005, Blalock received Brevard's Inspirational Individual Award for her creativity, dedication and enthusiasm. Earlier in her career, students at Florida Keys Community College gave her a Faculty of the Year Award and she advanced to a position as director of counseling and student activities.
Blalock has a master's degree in adult education from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, where she graduated with a perfect 4.0 grade point average and won an Academic Achievement Award. She also graduated magna cum laude from Mercyhurst College, Erie, Pa., with a bachelor's degree in English.
