Award-Winning Students Show Works at Venice

(Venice, Fla., Aug. 30, 2006) - Three winners of the prestigious Peter and Mary Lou Vogt Award for Excellence in Studio Art, which is presented annually to a Manatee Community College (MCC) Venice student, will display two- and three-dimensional artworks in an exhibit that will continue through Sept. 22 in the MCC Venice Fine Art Gallery, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail. The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The MCC mixed-media exhibit features works by 2006 award-winner Jasmine Woodbury, 2005 winner Laura Dresser and 2004 winner Richard Intemann. Each received a cash prize of $300 and the opportunity to exhibit their work in the MCC Venice Fine Art Gallery.

The exhibit is located in the library foyer.  Regular gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday. For more information, call (941) 408-1488.
