Studio 84 Presents Florida Debut of Dearly Beloved
(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 26, 2007) - Manatee Community College Studio 84 Productions will present the Florida debut of a new comedy, Dearly Beloved, at 8 p.m., Feb. 23 and 24, in the John W. James Studio Theatre, located off 26th Street at 60th Avenue West, MCC Bradenton.
Written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, the play introduces some colorful characters determined to have an elaborate antebellum wedding in the Tabernacle of the Lamb Church in the small town of Fayro, Texas. Unfortunately, the bride and groom are missing. The bride's mother and feuding aunts have to pull together to find ways to keep unsuspecting guests in their pews while a highway patrolman attempts to track down the couple.
Directed by Ken Erickson, the play features cast members Kali Blankenship, Kyle Biss, Kira Borrowdale, Colin Brady, Jenna Gagliano, Maggie Jewell, Megan Kroger, Dayton Sinkia, Ryan Dowd Urch, Jennifer Warber and Jennifer Woll.
Jones previously co-wrote the award-winning Dearly Departed, which was a sold-out Studio 84 production in 2005.
General admission is $10 for reserved seats. Tickets are $5 for Florida students and MCC staff. Tickets go on sale Feb. 7 in the Neel Performing Arts Center Box Office, which is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. For more information, call (941) 752-5252.
