Multilevel Classes Offered to Those Learning English

(Bradenton, Fla., Oct. 18, 2007) - Manatee Community College (MCC) will offer noncredit classes for students with different levels of skill in speaking, reading and writing English in Spring term 2008. English for Academic Purposes (EAP) classes will be offered at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, and MCC Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.

Prospective students must take a Level of English Proficiency test and provide a short writing sample to ensure placement in the correct level. They will receive help outside the classroom setting from learning specialists and tutors in a state-of-the-art Academic Resource Center at either campus. Personalized, comprehensive advising assists students in achieving career and professional goals, and financial aid is available to those who qualify.

Speech/Listening, Reading, Writing and Grammar classes at beginning through intermediate and advanced levels are offered during days and evenings at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West. Daytime classes are offered at MCC Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.  For the first time, intermediate and advanced evening classes in Reading and Grammar also will be offered at Venice.

Registration for new and all other students begins Nov. 13, 2007, for Spring term 2008 classes that begin Jan. 7, 2008, and end April 25, 2008.
