Update on Presidential Search
The Manatee Community College (MCC) Presidential Search Committee met for the second time on Jan. 30 and selected 10 semifinalists from a pool of 26 applicants hoping to succeed President Dr. Sarah H. Pappas, who will retire June 30, 2008.
Each of the semifinalists will receive instructions on how to provide a video interview in which they will answer the same three questions developed by search consultant Dr. Jeff Hockaday. The questions relate to the MCC mission and direction and are based on concepts identified by the committee.
Taped interviews will be provided to search committee members for their independent review.
The next committee meeting is tentatively set for 4 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 27, at MCC Lakewood Ranch. The committee's next tasks are to narrow the field of semifinalists to five and forward the names of five finalists to the MCC District Board of Trustees. It is anticipated that on-campus interviews will be held in March.
