New Music & Theater Building Opens

A new Music and Theater Building at Manatee Community College (MCC) Bradenton was completed in time to greet MCC students, faculty and visitors for the Fall term. The 19,500 square-foot building, a wing of the Neel Performing Arts Center, has its own entrance.

The building includes new classrooms and studio/offices and features these amenities:

      Music:

• Rehearsal room with 14 additional student stations
• Better acoustics
• Movable risers to provide flexibility
• New studio/offices, practice rooms, classrooms and labs

     Theater:

• New David S. and Anne V. Howard Studio Theatre with 118 seats
• Overhead catwalk system for stage lighting
• Dressing rooms with restrooms and showers
• Ticket office
• Scene shop
• Prop storage areas.

Plans are being finalized for an open house and grand opening event.
