Closing Reception Planned for Art Collection

(Bradenton, Fla., Sept. 9, 2008) - A closing reception for an exhibition of print art in Manatee Community College's (MCC) permanent collection and a gallery talk by guest curator Donn Roll will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26, in the fine art gallery at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The Fine Art Print Collection 2 exhibit features prints of works by Salvador Dali, Francisco Goya, Kathe Kollwitz, Edvard Munch, Roberto Matta, Nobuo Satoh and other noted artists.  Biographical information on each artist and information about the prints are displayed. After the exhibition, the prints will be shown in various buildings on campus and available for study through the fine art gallery.

Roll will discuss prints and printmaking. He teaches at MCC and serves as coordinator of the Adult Program at Ringling Museum. Roll has lectured extensively throughout the state and served as a juror for numerous exhibitions and art festivals.
